31 Macau View Detail
With a gaming history stretch back for more than 3 centuries, Macao was renowned as "Monte Carlo of the Orient" and "Las Vegas of the East". Gaming is now the pillar industry of Macao. In 2006, the gaming tax generated is estimated to be more than 70 per cent of the Macao Special Administrative Region`s total fiscal revenue. Recently, Macao`s gross gaming revenue has even exceeded the Las Vegas Strip occasionally, which makes it becomes the largest gaming city in the world. The success of the gaming business in Macao is primarily due to the policy support by the government, the robust investment by the entrepreneurs and the preference in gaming by the Asians. 32 United States Virgin Islands View Detail
The Virgin Islands Internet Gaming and Internet Gambling Act of 2001 provides for the issuance of internet gambling licenses. There is an initial license fee of USD $25,000 for the first two years and an annual renewal fee of USD $10,000 thereafter. Licenses are permitted to offer sublicenses or to franchise multiple sites. There is also a one-time application fee of USD $10,000, and a surety bond of at least USD $100,000 must accompany the application. The tax rate for online gaming is 2.5% of gross revenue. The US Department of Justice has issued a warning to the Virgin Islands government that indicates hosting internet gambling sites violates US federal laws. The Virgin Islands law permitting online gaming does so only under the condition that it can be conducted within applicable laws, which the Casino Control Commission understands to mean both local laws and US federal law. There are no online gaming sites presently licensed in the jurisdiction.
